Finally got this into a form I deemed postable. I love Al. Big fan.
Anyway, the original drawing was sketched and shaded into a grid compared to a gridded photograph. The grid was then erased, and several adjustments were made after many simple side-by-side comparisons. Then I did the final shading and everything. I'll probably make adjustments as time goes on - particularly if I can get my hands on a darker pencil. The lack of dark values I can get out of my mechanical pencil is starting to kill me.
*Edit: I know the gridlines are still plenty visible in places, but that's because I'm stupid and drew them in too dark to erase them easily without damaging parts that I'd already gotten down and wanted to keep. I never really do anything with these pictures other than show them off to friends and the like, so I don't worry about neatness so much.
