Artist's Comments

Made a few minor adjustments, particularly around the bridge of the nose. For the record, Ock is the coolest Spidy villain by far.

The drawing itself was started at 1:00 Saturday morning. I worked until 5:00, slept until 11:00, woke up and finished it. Since then, I've tampered with a few features and shadows here and there. An almost-complete version is in my scraps file.

I'm under the impression that you gridded a photo off and did it section by section? There is a kind of gridded effect in the drawing. It's a perfectly good way to get a likeness. Great work, great artist.

Ha - for a minute there, I thought you were going to make fun, and was about to sulk. A lot of people have said that, but my art teacher (we didn't get along) tended to snort as if I was cheating somehow.

Well...I myself don't use grids, though they are very helpful in getting a likeness. It is always more challenging to try to do it freehand, and though I prefer freehand, I don't think I could make myself go back to using a grid. haha
